Zakopane – capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains

Zakopane is one of the must-see places to visit when you are in Poland. Unfortunately, travelers often realize this too late. Please think about whether it is worth spending even one day more in Poland on a visit to the foothills of our beautiful mountains.  

Zakopane is a town located right at the foot of the majestic Tatra Mountains. Zakopane is unique because it stands out from all other regions in Poland. Polish highlanders have distinguished themselves with traditions, folklore, architecture and flavors from the rest of Poland. They even speak another language that is often hard to understand to the rest of Poland.

That’s why during our trip we will want to experience a little of everything. We will talk about their history, traditions and legends. We will be surrounded by wooden houses built in the „zakopiański” architectural style existing only in this region. We will not skip testing traditional highlander dishes in a selected local restaurant to the accompaniment of their music based on the violin, double bass and accordion. Speaking of flavors, the most important place is occupied by “Oscypek”, i.e. smoked sheep’s cheese, produced exclusively by Polish highlanders. Therefore, of course, you will have the opportunity to hear about its production and, above all, try it. We will show you where its tasting is most worth it.
And all this with the unique scenery of the highest Polish mountain peaks of the Tatra Mountains that pile up just outside Zakopane.
