We invite you for an unforgettable walk through a charming Cracow’s district – Kazimierz. It was once a separate royal city founded by King Casimir III the Great in the fourteenth century. For centuries it was shaped by a Christian-Jewish neighborhood. Today Kazimierz sets Cracow apart from other cities with its lively cultural and artistic life. That i why it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Our guides would like to share their knowledge about the history and culture of Kazimierz. Let them draw you to their passion for this unique place.
The history of Kazimierz is also connected with another district – Podgórze, which became part of Cracow in the early 20th century. These districts are strongly connected with the fate of the Jews in Cracow. During the Second World War in Podgórze district there was a Jewish ghetto, the Nazi concentration camp “Płaszów” and Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Wreck Factory, whose history was filmed by Steven Spielberg. Today it’s a dynamically developing district of Cracow with historical tenement houses, parks, MOCAK’s modern art museum and the Schindler’s Factory Museum to visit. The whole route can be modified following your expectations.
